Description
Frank Miller and Klaus Janson Batman: The Dark Knight Returns #3 Page 37 Original Art (DC, 1986). The Joker attempts to blow up Batman and Robin at the fair, an event that will soon lead to the Joker's dramatic death scene, in this page from the third issue of Frank Miller's ground-breaking four-issue mini-series. The Dark Knight was a real game-changer for both the Batman character and superhero comics in general, and its influence continues to be felt today, bringing about a much more adult-oriented feel to the entire genre.An art correction for the last panel has slipped off, revealing Miller and Janson's original, never-before-seen Joker image. Also, there's a fair amount of "black humor" at play here, especially with the depiction of the bomb-carrying "Bobbie" robot.
The artwork for this page is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 11.75" x 17". Other than a glue stain left behind on the last panel drawing; overall condition is Very Good. A black and white photocopy enlargement of the published bottom-half page is included.
