Description

Sleeping Beauty Briar Rose Preliminary Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1959). This charming original production drawing features Briar Rose (Princess Aurora in disguise) from Walt Disney's 16th animated feature, Sleeping Beauty (1959). Captured at the 25:46 timestamp, just before she begins her iconic "I Wonder" song, this graphite-rendered image shows her gracefully picking berries in the forest. Attributed to Disney Legend Marc Davis-one of the "Nine Old Men" and a master of character animation-this full-figure drawing captures Briar Rose's elegance and youthful innocence. Measuring approximately 3" x 6.5" on a 16-field animation sheet, the drawing features reinforced peg holes for stability during production. Notably, it includes a unique design on her feet, adding a touch of variation to the character model. Numbered 50 in the lower right corner, the piece shows expected age-related toning, minor handling and edge wear, and a small stain along the bottom edge, consistent with studio use. The lot includes a Certificate of Authenticity. In Very Good condition, this is a graceful and rare artifact from one of Disney's most visually stunning films.
