Description

James Bama Doc Savage #53 The Mental Wizard Cover Painting Original Art (Bantam, 1970). James Bama made quite a name for himself as the cover artist for the long-running and fan-favorite string of Doc Savage reprint novels from Bantam Books. Bama captured the look of "The Man of Bronze" in a way that became the standard for an entire new generation of fans, and the ripped shirt became de rigueur. This cover features Doc in the Jungles of South America, next to the statue of "Klantic" (an Egyptian Pharaoh). It's a mystery that will require the entire team. Painted in oil on illustration board, and signed in the lower edge of the 13.75" x 10.5" image area. Open front framed to 15.25" x 12" in a wooden frame that is 1.75" deep. In Excellent condition.
