Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse in Color: The Art of Floyd Gottfredson and Carl Barks, Gold Plate Limited Edition #67/100 (Another Rainbow, 1988). The Mickey Mouse Sunday newspaper comic serial strips by written and drawn by Floyd Gottfredson and the sole Carl Barks-drawn comic book story featuring Mickey ("The Riddle of the Red Hat," published by Dell as Four Color #79 in 1945) are reprinted in this deluxe oversized hardcover book, limited to only 100 copies that quickly sold out 35 years ago. The 248-page hardcover book measures a whopping 17" x 13"; this is the coveted Gold Plate edition signed by both Floyd Gottfredson (1905 - 1986) and Carl Barks (1901 - 2000). Mr. Gottfredson was the Mickey Mouse comic artist of record, drawing the newspaper strips for 45 years. Mr. Barks is justly famous for his many Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge comic book stories, but "the Good Duck Artist" had also worked on early Mickey Mouse animated cartoons during his brief tenure at the Walt Disney Studios, what a treasure! This substantial book is missing the original Mylar dustjacket, but exhibits only light handling and edge wear; overall Very Good condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
