Description
Sleeping Beauty Maleficent as Dragon Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1959). Before Game of Thrones and House of Dragons, there was Maleficent's dragon transformation. The iconic villainess became even more lethal, devastating her surroundings. This sequence of four 16 field 3-peghole animation drawings show her at her best, preparing to breathe a blast of emerald flames from her maw at about 1:09:40-41. The waist up dragon ranges from about 3.75'' x 5'' to 5.25'' x 4.75''. The pages are numbered 7, 11, 17, and 31 in the bottom right corner. Two are circled, indicating they are key frames and were likely drawn by supervising animator and Disney Legend Marc Davis (1913 - 2000). All have some graphite shading on the back and the last page includes a timing chart. There is light age-related toning with minor edge and handling wear. Very Good condition overall for this stunning sequence.Auction Info
