Description

Sleeping Beauty Maleficent as a Dragon Animation Drawing Signed by Marc Davis (Walt Disney, 1959). This stunning drawing, done on 16 field 3-peghole paper, is from the unforgettable climax of the beloved film Sleeping Beauty. Maleficent turns into a monstrous dragon and when it looks like all is lost the three good fairies cast a spell on Prince Phillip's sword. The sword flies true and impales the dragon in this awe-inspiring moment at about 1:10:17. There are a couple of minor changes you can see in the final shot, like the position of the dragon's head and left hand. The piece is signed by Marc Davis (1913 - 2000), one of Walt's "Nine Old Men" as well as one of Maleficent's designers and animators. The dragon measures an incredible size of about 13.25'' x 11.75''. Numbered 81, the paper has minor age-related toning with some edge and handling wear. Good to Very Good condition.
