Walt Disney Collectibles - Rare "Pluto 75th Anniversary" Big Figure As-New in Box (Walt Disney, c. 1990s). "Hey, Pluto!" Mickey Mouse's loyal and lovable pup looks good for 75 years old in this commemorative Walt Disney Collectibles "Pluto 75th Anniversary Big Figure"! Disney Big Figures debuted in 1989 with a simple release of the "Disney Standard Characters" Mickey and Goofy and Scrooge Mc Duck. However, Disney Store retail branches expanded the collection to include exclusive and limited-edition figure releases based on popular feature films, issued through The Disney Store, The Disney Catalog, and Disney Parks. The sensational bloodhound debuted in "The Chain Gang" (1930) and after much development by Ben Sharpsteen, Norm Ferguson, and others, Pluto went on to co-star or star in more than 110 short films between 1930 and 1995. This collectible large Disney Big Figure presents a colorful, red-collared version of Pluto, accented with wireframe whiskers, poseable soft vinyl ears and tail, an engraved "dog license", and a bright green base. The "Pluto 75th Anniversary Big Figure" was released for a limited time through Disney Direct, swiftly sold-out and was "retired", and has long since been sought after by collectors. Measuring 12" x 17" x 26", this large-sized tribute to the Disney Standard Character is in Very Good condition, exhibiting an "open" tail requiring a minor repair. Pluto is accompanied by his Walt Disney Collectibles Certificate of Authenticity, polyform packaging, and the original 16" x 20.5" 26" box. The box is in Good condition exhibiting minor wear.
