Description

Mickey's Trailer Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1938). What begins as leisurely holiday road trip for pals Mickey, Donald, and Goofy turns into a life-or-death situation in Mickey's runaway trailer. Here are three original 12 field 5-peghole animation drawings from this Ben Sharpsteen-directed short of Mickey and Donald as they helplessly look out the back window while zipping down the dangerous mountain road. As Donald kneels and prays, Mickey grasps at anything to hold onto in the first drawing; it takes place right after the trailer misses getting smacked by a passing train, at about the 6:53 mark. This drawing is noted as 117, with an approximate image size of 7" x 4.74. Drawing 202 shows the boys relived about the train, but only for a moment; the image measures about 6.25" x 4". In the last drawing, numbered 207, the boys realize the trouble isn't over, and react in a great "stretch and squash" style image; find it in the film at the 6:56. The combined images of Donald and Mickey measure 5.5" x 5.25". All art is in graphite with green pencil shadow outlines. Condition is mostly Very Good with minor handling wear; the 207 drawing has some graphite smudges to the left of the image, and is in Good to Very Good condition.
