Bullwinkle ASIFA-Hollywood Fund-Raising Scene Cel (Jay Ward, c. 1970s-80s). Bullwinkle entertains us with a little soft-shoe song and dance number in this rare hand-painted Jay Ward scene cel. Scene cels like this were originally sold at the Dudley Do-Right Emporium on Sunset Strip in Hollywood, which was open from 1971 until 2005. This particular cel was originally sold in a fund-raising auction to benefit the International Animated Film Society's ASIFA-Hollywood chapter, and features a full-figure image of our favorite cartoon moose, with an overall image size of 8" x 7.5". This non-profit organization was first organized in 1957; the "first lady of animation," June Foray (1917 - 2017), was an early member, and it was her urging that the organization's illustrious Annie Awards program was developed. The Bullwinkle cel comes with a blue paper mat that includes an International Animated Film Society seal in the lower right corner and is backed with a sheet of corrugated board that includes an ASIFA Certificate of Authenticity on the back side. The paper mat has some handling and edge wear, plus a small stain near the seal. The cel is in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.More information about Jay Ward Studios.
