Description

Mickey's Rival Mickey Mouse Animation Drawing Sequence of 7 (Walt Disney, 1936). Mortimer pulls the picnic blanket from under Mickey Mouse, causing his nose to get stuck in his teacup in this magnificent sequence of seven original animation drawings from Mickey's Rival. This beloved classic theatrical short was directed by Wilfred Jackson and released on 6/20/1936. Considered one of Mickey's greatest roles, Mickey's Rival pits Mickey against Mortimer Mouse, his first ever rival for Minnie's affections. A perfect example of cartoon stretching effects prevalent in the 1930s, these drawings are rendered deftly in graphite and color pencil on seven sheets of 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The drawings range in size from 4.5" x 3.5" to 10.5" x 6.25". Minor handling and edge wear with age-related toning, and the condition overall is Very Good.
