Spicy Mystery Stories #27 August 1937 (Culture) CGC VF 8.0 Off-white to white pages. Behind the terrifying bondage cover by H. J. Ward, this milestone issue includes the first appearance of the comic strip "The Astounding Adventures of Olga Mesmer" (also known as "The Girl with the X-Ray Eyes"), a superheroine in comic-art format who preceded Superman by almost a full year. This book is astonishingly vibrant and clean, with colors that pop off the page in a way rarely found in pulps. We've seen only two prior copies of this issue, and CGC has certified just two to date, so we do not recommend passing up any opportunity for this exciting rarity.
