Description
David Wright - Portrait of a Man Painting Original Art (1938). A man, who appears to be Wright's wife's (Esme) brother, as referenced from other pieces by the artist that featured the same gentleman. Wright often used friends and family as the subject for his works, and this is a wonderful example rendered in gouache on 13" x 19.25" art paper, adhered to a 14.5" x 22" support board. The support board is toned with creasing and edge tears, a piece missing from the bottom left corner, and staining along the bottom. The painting has spot staining and edge/handling wear.
