Super Mario Bros. - Wata 9.0 CIB [Hangtab, 2 Code, Mid-Production], NES Nintendo 1985 USA. [Box: 8.5; Cart: 9.6; Manual: 9.6; Overall: 9.0] One of the most recognizable video games ever released, Super Mario Bros. played a pivotal role in reviving the North American home console market after the 1983 crash. This legendary side-scroller defined the platforming genre and set the standard for countless mascots and titles that followed. This particular example is a hangtab copy, an early-production variant manufactured before Nintendo switched to non-hangtab boxes. Collectors prize these early runs for their scarcity and unmistakable place in the game's release history. Condition-wise, it shows light corner wear along with minor rubbing in a couple of small spots on the edges, but remains an appealing example of an iconic and increasingly difficult-to-find early print.
