Description

Zeppelin Stories - June 1929 (Ramer Reviews, Inc.) Condition: VG+. The most sought-after copy of one of the rarest pulps ever published. The classic "The Gorilla of the Gas Bags" cover is by C. B. Colby. The scarcity of this copy -- or any in the title's brief four-issue run -- cannot be overstated. Bookery's notes, "Most Ramer pulps are so rare, one wonders the exact nature of their distribution. Zeppelin Stories is the reigning king of pulps famous for being bizarre in the specificity of its genre, as well as being nearly unobtainable due to scarcity." Mediascene #18 listed it as one of "The 50 Rarest Pulps" in 1976; we've seen only one other copy prior to this one, graded VG+ and auctioned more than 10 years ago for $6,572. This copy, originally from the Frank Robinson Collection has several spine splits that measure up to 1.75", but otherwise presents extremely well. Bookery's Guide to Pulps Second Edition VG value = $4,000.
From the Jack and Joanie Kump Pulp Collection. Comes with COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: EDIT: Added that this was originally from the Frank Robinson Collection.
