Description

The Nifty Nineties Mickey and Minnie Mouse Production Cel Courvoisier Setup (Walt Disney, 1941).
As "In the Good Old Summertime" plays, Mickey and Minnie go for a countryside drive in the cartoon that pays homage to the 1890s. This short was directed by Riley Thompson and released on 6/20/41. Much of the animation was done by Ward Kimball, Fred Moore, Les Clark and Walt Kelly, to name a few. This is a rare hand-inked hand-painted production cel of Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their Brass Era Car. The trimmed cel is on a Courvoisier airbrushed background with a Courvoisier COA on back of the frame. The two have left the Vaudeville show and are driving in the countryside, where they see Donald and Daisy Duck and the nephews bike riding, as well as Goofy bike riding. You can see this image around the 5:48 mark. Cels from this short are few and far between! Great overall image of 7" x 7". One of the best pure Mickey and Minnie together cels we have seen. In a frame of 15" x 15" with a mat opening of 8" x 7". Original Courvoisier cream-colored mat with WDP stamp in the new frame setup. Art is in a frame of 15 "x 15" with a mat opening of 7.5" x 7". Frame sold as-is. Some ink loss on Mickey's eye and line loss on Minnie's face. The trimmed cel has shifted slightly on the background. Good condition.
