Superman #6 Davis Crippen ("D" Copy) pedigree (DC, 1940) CGC FN/VF 7.0 Cream to off-white pages. Of the few copies graded higher than this one to date, none is better than an 8.5, so we'd say this original-owner copy ranks among the best you'll find. Superman is at his best and most appealing on this simple yet effective cover, credited to co-creator Joe Shuster. The interior of the issue is notable for having the first splash page in any Superman comic. Overstreet 2006 FN 6.0 value = $909; VF 8.0 value = $1,970. CGC census 7/06: 4 in 7.0, 3 higher.
