Description

Sanjulián (Manuel Pérez Clemente) Creepy #50 Cover Re-Creation Original Art (c. 2018-19). A return to one of Warren's most iconic images. This original painting is Sanjulián's re-creation of his celebrated cover for Creepy #50, first published in March 1972. A landmark moment in the Warren horror line -- its 50th installment -- featuring a chilling Sanjulián tableau of gothic atmosphere, macabre beauty, and painterly precision. The cover quickly became one of the defining images of the Warren era, cementing Sanjulián's place alongside Frazetta and Wrightson as one of the masters of illustrated horror. Painted with the same lush brushwork and cinematic depth that characterized his original Warren pieces, this gem allows collectors the chance to acquire a fresh, one-of-a-kind Sanjulián painting of a historically significant cover. Crafted in oil on unstretched canvas, with an image area of 15.75" x 21.5". Signed. In Excellent condition. From the personal collection of Manuel Sanjulián.
