Description
André Franquin Spirou #1721 Gaston Lagaffe Story Pages Original Art Group of 2 (Dupuis, 1971). Franquin's beloved, clumsy hero Gaston Lagaffe (Gomer Goof in English), takes center stage in these two charming pages from "Les Pâques du Frère Jacques", a mini-story published in 1971 in Spirou #1721 -- a special issue dedicated to Franquin. This short story was a collaboration between Franquin and Noël Bissot, a longtime Dupuis artist known for his contribution to many mini-comics in the renowned Belgian comic weekly. Both artworks are rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 3.75" x 5.75". The reverse sides feature hand-applied colored pencil work. Also included are two overlays with colored pencil enhancements of Gaston -- one loose and the other affixed to a printed black-and-white copy of one of the original pages. A printed copy in color of the other original page is also included. A rare and exceptional set showcasing Franquin's artistry in a unique way! Light handling wear.
