Gene Colan and Vince Colletta Captain Marvel #1 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1968). The classic opening splash page that launched Captain Marvel's self-titled series picks up right where he left off in Marvel Super-Heroes #13. Captain Marvel (or should we say 'Mar-Vell'?) must protect a military base -- and Carol Danvers -- from a rampaging Kree Sentry! A high-octane, late Silver Age beauty rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 14". Paste-up stat header and indicia, toning, production oil and glue residue staining, discolored adhesive tape, punched holes in the upper margin, and a chipped top left corner.
