"Mickey Collage" Disney 75th Anniversary Poster by Paul Wenzel Group of 12 (Walt Disney, 1998). "Animation can explain whatever the mind of man can conceive." The seminal quote from Walt Disney is exemplified through the beautiful artwork by Disney illustrator Paul Wenzel (1935 - 2022) which was used to create the 12 poster prints featured in this lot. Wenzel was Disney Consumer Products' first Art Director for their creative publishing team during his 42 year tenure with the studio. Prior to working on consumer products, he created over 100 movie posters as a designer and illustrator for the Motion Picture Advertising Department at Disney. The artwork used to create these posters was originally designed by Wenzel for Disney Studios' 75th anniversary and was published by Walt Disney Art Classics in poster format in 1998. These 20" x 28" posters feature a staggering 52 characters positioned in such a way that they clearly resemble Mickey Mouse's full-figured image. Many of the characters have been drawn in iconic poses from their films, and together they share a combined image size of 13.5" x 19.5". The Disney 75 Years of Love and Laughter logo appears centered at the bottom of the posters. With light handling and edge wear including minor surface scuffing, this lot is in Very Good condition overall.From the Master Disney Artist/Art Director Mr. Paul Wenzel Archive.
