Description

Wally Wood - Two Nude Vignettes Illustration Original Art (c. 1960s-70s). This matched set of fanciful miniature nudes (two, affixed to a single page) appears to date from Wood's Witzend period of the waning 1960s. Witzend was the artist's experimental magazine, straddling the border between fanzines and Underground Comix. No formal publishing pedigree is documented. The backing sheet (reverse) contains a photocopied cover image by Undergrounder Charles Dallas, from Gary Arlington's Nickel Library project of the same general period. Nickel Library issued imaginary cover art representing various EC Comics titles, with Wood as an occasional contributor. Ink over blue pencil on two-ply stock. Toning and tape residue. Measurements: 3.5" x 5" and 3.5" x 4.5" Very Good condition.
