Description
Hanna-Barbera Cartoons Deluxe Hardcover Book Owned by Gary Owens plus Other Items Group of 5 (Hanna-Barbera/Warner Brothers, 1998/c. 1970s-80s). He was a radio announcer, a disc jockey, a television personality (as a regular Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In during the 1960s-70s), but for animation fans, Gary Owen (1934 - 2015) was the voice of Space Ghost and Blue Falcon in Hanna-Barbera cartoons! Here are some items from Mr. Owens personal archive, including a hardcover book, Hanna-Barbera Cartoons, published in 1998 by WB Beaux Arts Editions. It's similar to the 1997 book Warner Bros. Animation, and like that book, the front cover includes a nifty sericel with several prominent H-B cartoon characters, in this case, Tom & Jerry, the Jetsons, Yogi Bear, the Flintstones, and Scooby-Doo. The book measures 11" x 12.75" x 1.125", and is in Fine condition. Also included in this lot is a signed Bugs Bunny/Looney Tunes 2-piece birthday card, with the second part a flexi-disc style record; this is hand-signed by master voice artist Mel Blanc (1908 - 1989). The card was designed to tear apart into two pieces; otherwise, condition is Very Good with handling wear. A black and white photo of Gary and Mel is included, printed on 11" x 8.5" glossy photo paper, in Very Good condition. Final item is a black line-art image of the Pink Panther on a publicity cel; it's matted with an opening of 7" x 8", and overall approximate size of 9" x 10". The mat is hand-signed and inscribed, but we can't quite make it out (Jim Nöel?); condition is Good with several small cracks in the cel.Auction Info
