Description

Woodland Café Silly Symphony Animation Drawing Sequence of 4 (Walt Disney, 1937). Jazz music and insects make an unexpectedly-good pair in this 1937 Silly Symphony, Woodland Café! In this scene of the short, an enthusiastic conductor directs a bug-filled saxophone section as they light up the night with some smooth jazz. These are some fantastically expressive drawings with great motion, and this sequence can be found at about the 5:24 mark of the short. The images are created with graphite and red pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper, and they are marked in their lower right corners with 5, 35, 200, and 224. The condition of these great pieces is Very Good, with minor handling, edge wear, age-related paper toning, and minor graphite smudging.
