Description
Ron Randall and Bob McLeod Spider-Man #50 Story Page 7 Original Art (Marvel, 1994). Vladimir Kravinoff battles ruthlessly against the Grim Hunter, unaware that the masked figure testing his skills is actually his father, Sergei Kravinoff (a.k.a. Kraven the Hunter), in disguise. This flashback scene unpacks Vladimir's backstory and foreshadows his eventual decision to take up the Grim Hunter mantle after his father's death -- part of a harrowing story that examines the destructive weight of legacy and family expectation. This jungle-set story page, the penultimate page of the eight-page tale "Rite of Passage", is rendered in ink over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Whiteout corrections, handling wear, staple holes in the top left, adhesive staining, stat art corrections to Sergei's arm in Panel 1 and Vladimir's head in Panel 3, and stat paste-ups used for the text.
