Description

Trader Mickey Mickey Mouse and Native Chief Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1932). Instrument trader Mickey finds himself on a supposedly deserted island, soon captured by a native tribe who want to turn him and Pluto into their next meal. The group get a little distracted when they find his instruments and he uses this to his advantage, showing them how to play and handing the jolly chief a harmonica. The man accidentally swallows it, but Mickey is quick on his feet, poking his stomach to keep playing the instrument. One of these pokes can be found in this centered 12 field 2-peghole graphite drawing, seen at about the 4:34 mark of this David Hand-directed theatrical short. Mickey and the chief measure approximately 5.5'' x 4.75'' combined and are noted as 42 in the lower right corner. This lot is in Very Good condition with faint age-related toning and minor edge and handling wear.
