The Jetsons "Dude Planet" Dude Ranch Announcer Layout Drawing by Dick Bickenbach (Hanna-Barbera, 1963). Presented is a wonderful original layout drawing by the hand of the great Dick Bickenbach (1907 - 1994), created for The Jetsons episode "Dude Planet." Airing on 2/17/1963, "Dude Planet" follows Jane after she takes a vacation on a dude ranch planet, leaving George to mind the house in her absence. This image of the dude ranch announcer from the episode is rendered in graphite and blue pencil on 12 field animation paper. In true Dick Bickenbach fashion this drawing closely resembles the iconic Barney Rubble, one of the artist's most recognizable designs. This large image nearly fills the paper, and the drawing bears the hand-written scene and production numbers SC-146 and V-22. Minor handling and edge wear with small tears at the bottom edge. Light age-related toning, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
