Description

Mickey's Garden Animation Drawings Sequence of 3 (Walt Disney, 1935). Mickey's garden is being invaded by insects in this Wilfred Jackson-directed animated short, which was released on 7/13/35. Mickey tries to solve his problem with pesticide, but naturally, he gets hit by his own bug spray in the process, after which he begins having wild hallucinations. While in this altered state, Mickey falls and lands in a tomato with a worm, which he proceeds to ride and then wrestle as it turns into a garden hose. You can see this play out in this fantastic sequence of three original animation drawings, with images which can be found starting around the 7:48 mark. Disney Legend and one of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Ollie Johnston did the layouts for this short while Walt Disney provided the voice for Mickey Mouse. Drawn in graphite with red pencil on 12 field 5-peghole animation paper. The drawings are noted as numbers 23, 173, and H1A. Drawing 23 has torn pegholes. All three pieces exhibit age-related toning and edge wear. Condition is Good to Very Good.
