Description
Rock-a-Doodle Chanticleer and Edmond Publicity Cel (Don Bluth, 1991). "Once upon a time, back before I knew how to tie my shoes, the sun came up. Now, I know an everyday sunrise may not seem like such a big deal to some folks. But, imagine for a moment: if instead of rising up like this one morning where you lived, she took a look around and decided to go back to sleep." This spectacular publicity cel features charming images of two main characters from Don Bluth's 1991 film Rock-a-Doodle. The cel depicts Chanticleer, the rooster whose crowing raises the sun, and Edmond, the little boy who was transformed into a kitten by the malevolent Grand Duke of Owls. This film follows Chanticleer as he travels to the city to pursue a career in music, wreaking havoc on the now-sunless land, which Edmond and others from Chanticleer's farm seek to remedy. This wonderful, hand-painted publicity cel showcases a huge, full-figure image of the two characters measuring about 10" x 7" on a 16 field cel. The colorful cel is matted, with a matboard aperture of 14.5" x 10" and an overall mat size of 20" x 16". The cel is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
