Description
"Cinderella's Moonlit Arrival" Limited Edition Giclée by Harrison Ellenshaw AP20/20 (Walt Disney, c. 2000s). A fantastic Giclée on canvas by renowned studio matte painter and special effects artist, Harrison Ellenshaw. Harrison began his career at the Disney Studios before joining George Lucas' effects studio, Industrial Light and Magic. There he would paint matte visual effects for Star Wars (1977) and The Empire Strikes Back (1980). He would eventually return to Disney as a miniature effects creator on The Black Hole (1979) for which he would receive an Academy Award nomination. He would go on to serve as associate producer and visual effects supervisor on TRON (1982) and ultimately become head of Disney's effects unit, Buena Vista Visual Effects. Harrison worked again with George Lucas but this time it was for a 3-D attraction at Disneyland, Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson. After he completed his work on Ghost (1990), Harrison would create the gorgeous matte paintings for Warren Beatty's Dick Tracy. "In Dick Tracy" as Harrison notes, "the matte paintings were visually the star of that film." This gorgeous Giclée image measures 12" x 16" on 17" x 21" canvas. This is an artist's proof #AP20/20, hand-signed by the artist. The canvas comes rolled and includes a certificate of authenticity. Fine condition. From the Ellenshaw Family Archives.Auction Info
