Description

Dale Messick Brenda Starr Hand-Colored Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-30-44 (Chicago Tribune, 1944). Brenda has escaped with Nazi spy Bit'so's teeth, after shooting him -- let's see a modern day comic strip glamour girl try that! This ink and watercolor over graphite on Bristol board Sunday has an approximate image area of 27" x 12.5", and it's in Very Good condition. Signed on the back of the page by Messick, who notes that she hand-colored the strip herself.
