Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 8-6-59 (New York Herald Tribune, 1959). Jaffee's innovative design for Tall Tales, with a narrow-vertical format and little to no dialogue, was unique among the newspapers' funnypages, running during Jaffee's parallel ascent as a leading gagman with MAD Magazine. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 2.75" x 11". Discolored logo and syndicate paste-ups, whiteout touch-ups/corrections, with light staining and handling wear.
