Description
Lorence F. Bjorklund (attributed) Tex Granger Daily Comic Strips Original Art Group of 5 (c. 1940s). Tex rides to the rescue in this action-packed set of strips, charging in to save a family under siege by natives as they head west to California. With Westerns dominating pop culture in the '40s and '50s, it was only natural for a tale about a tough-as-nails lawman braving the perils of the Old West to saddle up in both comic strips and comic books. Tex's popularity even galloped onto the big screen in Columbia Pictures' 1948 15-chapter serial, Tex Granger: Midnight Rider of the Plains. Ink over graphite on Bristol boards with approximate image areas of 19.25" x 4.25". Toning, smudging, spot staining, production oil staining, whiteout touch-ups, text correction paste-ups, corner wear/creasing, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.Auction Info
