Description

Morrie Brickman The Small Society Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-7-84 (King Features, 1984). Brickman had started The Small Society during the 1960s as a razz at President Lyndon B. Johnson's "Great Society" boosterism campaign. By the 1980s, Johnson and his slogan were things of the past, but Brickman's parody remained relevant. The strip's low-key caustic wit and Everyman characters holds up well. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, measuring 13" x 4.5". Toned, with adhesive residue, an oxide stain (from a paper clip), a discolored logotype area, and blue-pencil editorial notations. Very Good condition.
