Description

Polar Trappers Goofy Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1938). Donald Duck and Goofy try to trap some polar animals, but they quickly find resistance in the form of both the creatures and environment around them. Goofy quickly finds himself trapped in an icicle-filled cave when he chases a walrus. He tries to leave, but soon realizes that the icicles will drop onto him with every sound he makes. In this image, Goofy can be seen retrieving a pin from his thick winter jacket in order to test his hypothesis that even the tiniest of sounds (like a pin drop) will cause the icicles to plummet down onto him. Unfortunately for him, he's right, and a massive icicle drops directly onto him. This moment can be found at about the 3:37 mark of the short. This Ben Sharpsteen-directed short is the first time that Donald and Goofy appear together on screen without their compatriot Mickey Mouse! This original animation drawing features a massive image of the bundled-up Goofy measuring about 5.5" x 8". Now this is a great piece with a huge image of one of the most beloved Disney characters! The drawing is created with graphite and red pencil on 12 field, 5-peghole animation paper, and it has been labeled in its lower right corner with 113. This excellent drawing is in Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, a few stray pencil marks, and some age-related toning.
