Description
Godzilla Production Sub Captain and Sailor Color Model Cel with Master Background (Hanna-Barbera, 1978). The iconic King of Monsters, Godzilla, came in animated form to both Tokyo and the US in this Hanna-Barbera series on 9/9/78 and ran with new episodes in both countries for two seasons. Presented in this lot is a fantastic hand-painted and hand-inked color model sheet featuring the Sub Captain and a Sailor from the series, each measuring about 7.25" tall, presented on a fabulous nad painted Master background from the show, rendered in gouache on background board, and measuring 11.75" x 9.75". Backgrounds in this series were painted by artists including Al Gmuer, James Hegedus, Jim Hickey, Deborah Akers, Dennis Durrell, and Martin Forte, among others. The cel has a staple near the top right corner and some paint speckles near the left edge. The background has some light scuffing on the left edge. Overall, the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
