Description
Ed McGuinness, Marlo Alquiza, and Lary Stucker Fighting American: Rules of the Game #2 Story Page 5 Original Art (Awesome, 1998). John Flagg has retired to a quiet farm in Kansas, but for some reason, his old partner, Spice, has tracked him down -- and she's looking for a fight! Originally created in 1954 by Joe Simon and Jack Kirby, the same legendary duo behind Captain America, Fighting American began as a satirical response to McCarthyism and the Red Scare of the 1950s. Unlike Captain America, who symbolized wartime patriotism, Fighting American evolved into a tongue-in-cheek critique of Cold War paranoia. In the 1990s, Rob Liefeld licensed the character with admiration for its history, though legal pressure from Marvel forced him to make changes to the character including no longer being able to throw the shield as a weapon. Ink over graphite on Image Bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15.75". Light smudging, whiteout touch-ups, and light handling wear. In Excellent condition.Lookup the Comic Book in our Guide
