Bill Plympton The Simpsons Season 19 DVD Box Set Animation Drawing Group of 17 (Fox, 2019). From the hand of Bill Plympton comes this impressive selection of 17 original animation drawings created for The Simpsons season 19 DVD box set menu progression. Plympton was hired to design the packaging and animated menu for this box set in 2019, and he currently holds the record for most Simpsons couch gags by a guest director with produced eight between 2012 and 2022. From Disc #4's progression, the family car can be seen gently drifting to ocean floor for a drive amongst the sea life. Each image has been rendered in colored pencil on 12 field 3-peghole paper with sequence numbers in the lower right; Plympton's signature is featured on the drawings numbered 8, 10, and 32A. No cels were used in the making of this animated sequence, this is the actual artwork hand-drawn by Bill Plympton and filmed. A print of the DVD boxset cover is included for reference. This collection is a testament to Plympton's innovative contribution to the world of animation and the enduring legacy of The Simpsons.
