Description

Tom & Jerry "Touché Pussy Cat!" Tom, Jerry, Tuffy, and Lady Mouse Production Cel and Studio Painted Presentation Background (MGM, 1954). Pussycat... on guard!" says Tuffy to Tom Cat in this marvelous follow up to the 1951 theatrical cartoon Two Musketeers. It was directed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera, the first to be produced in a wide-screen CinemaScope format and the last Tom and Jerry cartoon to receive an Academy Award nomination. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted trimmed-to-image production cel setup of Tom, Jerry, Tuffy, and a French girl mouse, all from various scenes in this short. The full-figure images range from 2" to 7" tall on 10" x 12" trimmed cels over a hand-painted studio presentation background. This art was assembled as a gift from MGM Studios. A dedication on the mat reads, "To Ed Bagley With Best Wishes, Tom and Jerry". Also written on the mat is "An original from the Metro Goldwyn Mayer Cartoon "Touché' Pussy-Cat" Starring Tom and Jerry." It's an incredibly rare studio gift. The paint is chipping and cracking - it could benefit from professional restoration. Otherwise, condition is Fair to Good.
