Description
The Black Cauldron Taran and Company Captured Storyboards plus Publicity Photo Group (Walt Disney, 1985). "My, such a brave and handsome crew! A pig-boy, a scullery maid, and broken-down minstrel!" The Horned King captures Taran, Princess Eilonwy, and Fflewddur Fflam, in this sequence of original storyboard drawings by David Jonas (1926 - 2014). Primarily working as an illustrator, Mr. Jonas briefly studied Pre-Med before switching to a film art career; he produced production illustrations for such live-action films as Back to the Future Part II, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and Empire of the Sun. He also did animation on several Ralph Bakshi films as well, including Wizards and Lord of the Rings. This set of storyboards from The Black Cauldron are drawn in graphite, three with added color pencils. The art is on paper measuring approximately 11" x 5", and mounted 2-up on three sheets of heavy blue paper measuring 14" x 11". Also included is a studio publicity photo of British voice actress Susan Sheridan (1947 - 2015), showing model sheets of her character, Princess Eilonwy. The photo print is hand-signed by the film's producer, Joe Hale. The storyboards all have minor handling wear and tack holes. Overall condition is Very Good.Auction Info
