Description

Eric Vincent Alien Fire #1 Story Page Elements Original Art (Kitchen, 1987). This double-width spread contains pictorial elements that were used to establish the post-apocalyptic tone of Vincent's collaborative Alien Fire, one of the most adventurous and provocative series to come out of the resurgent independent-comics scene of the 1980s. The selection is not a specific story page, as such, but a panoramic composition containing panels that were designed for placement within various sections of the story. The sense of decay and desolation is brilliantly realized. An air of rustic antiquity (the locale is Kansas) combines to eerie effect with such modern-day touches as fading billboards. The blank spaces (above the low tier) were designed to accommodate narrative text. Ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 18.75" x 12.5". Excellent condition.
From the Denis Kitchen Collection.
