Batman: The Animated Series Batgirl and Catwoman Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background (Warner Brothers, c. 1992-95). "You were going to keep that statue all along, weren't you?" "Of course, haven't you learned yet that only the strong survive in this game?" Batgirl realizes she's been double-crossed by Catwoman during their shaky alliance in the "Batgirl Returns" episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Seen at the 18:53 mark of the episode, this remarkably rare hand-painted original production cel is presented on its original Key Master production background. The dramatic, low-angle background is beautifully rendered in gouache on the signature black illustration board for which the series is well known. Backgrounds of the episode are attributed to Troy Adomitis, Steve Butz, Brian Chin, Russell G. Chong, David Kroll, Rae McCarson, Charles Pickens, Don Schweikert, Keith Weesner, and Todd Winter. The cel bears a Warner Brothers seal. The numbers 406-585 and BG C-121 are written near the bottom edge. The 12 field cel is numbered A12. Minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
