Description
Jim Raymond (as Chic Young) Blondie Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 5-6-56 (King Features Syndicate, 1956). Blondie and Cookie fail to shake off a very persuasive door-to-door salesman, ultimately purchasing a useless gadget just to make him leave. Meanwhile, Dagwood enjoys a nap that ends up costing him exactly $1.50 -- the precise price of the aforementioned useless gadget! Jim Raymond, younger brother of Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon), began his career as an assistant on Blondie before taking over the art duties completely in 1950, following Chic Young's declining vision. Rendered in ink over graphite on two Bristol boards joined with tape on the reverse, with a total image area of 17" x 15". Toned, with a stat logo paste-up, tape, production notes, and handling wear. In Very Good condition.More information about Jim Raymond. See also: Raymond, Jim Artist.
