Description
The Chipmunk Adventure Alvin and the Chipmunks and Mexico City Inhabitant Production Cel Setup Signed by Ross Bagdasarian (Bagdasarian Studios, 1987). "The fun has just begun! It is our annual fiesta!" In this 1987 animated film, Alvin, Simon, and Theodore set off on a journey around the world. In this scene, the chipmunks arrive in Mexico City, where they are quickly welcomed to a lively feisty. This image depicts the three chipmunks as they meet one of the citizens of Mexico City, a moment which can be found at about the 21:52 mark of the film. This setup is composed of four original, hand-painted production cels that feature full-figure images of the four characters. The combined image of the chipmunks measures about 3.75" x 4", while the Mexican man measures about 5" x 5.5". The images are painted on trimmed 12 field cels. The setup bears a seal from Bagdasarian Productions, and it has also been signed by Ross Bagdasarian, the son of the creator of Alvin and the Chipmunks. This piece is matted with a nameplate, with a matboard aperture of 10.5" x 8" and an overall mat size of 14" x 18". This piece is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear.Auction Info
