Description

Joe Giella - The Flash Specialty Illustration Original Art (undated). The Scarlet Speedster blazes off the page in this electrifying illustration by Giella, whose clean, consistent brushwork over Carmine Infantino helped define the look of the Silver Age Flash. A foundational inker for milestone issues like The Flash #110 and #123, Giella began inking Infantino's work with Showcase #13, right as superheroes were racing back into the spotlight in the late '50s and '60s. Ink, wash, and white paint highlights over graphite on Bristol board with an end-to-end image area of 8.5" x 11". Signed by Giella in the lower right and in Excellent condition.
