Description

Gould Assistant Artist Dick Tracy Unpublished Consecutive Daily Comic Strips Original Art Group of 5 (1957). It's interesting to see Chester Gould working out his assistant's art abilities in these 5 daily strips dated 3-5-57 to 3-9-57. These unfinished strips, called "blanks", show the Kitten Sisters storyline, with those crazy tumbling assassins catching the eye of a talent scout, and were created to gage Gould's assistants to see if they were ready to take on a greater role in the creation of Dick Tracy. The dailies have unfinished artwork in several panels and lacking any copyright attribution. A real rarity for fans of this long-running strip. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 16.5" x 5.25". Boards are slightly toned with handling and wear in the margins. Overall in Excellent condition.
