Description

Peter Pan Lost Boy Cubby Character Study/Model Sheet (Walt Disney, 1953). "Ya mean me!" Here's a rare character study/model sheet for Cubby, one of the Lost Boys on Neverland Island. In the film, the Lost Boys make their first appearance when Peter Pan takes Wendy, John, and Michael to Neverland. Jealous Tinker Bell tells them a "Wendy-Bird" had started a flight across Neverland and needed to be hunted down. A character study is a series of illustrations that have been created to explore an animated character, after the character has been conceptualized. It acts as a comprehensive guide to map out character traits and "proof of concept." Proof of Concept in animation is the first stage of any character study definition. It is called this because, the animator must prove that the character can emote in a way that would make an audience care, empathize and relate. This RARE piece of animation history was rendered in graphite over red and blue pencil on 16 field size (15.5" x 12.5") animation paper. The piece has tack holes in the corners from production use and age-related toning. Condition is Very Good. A must-have for astute collectors of the artform.
