Description
Northwest Hounded Police/Little Rural Riding Hood Wolf and Country Red Animation Drawings Original Art Group of 2 (MGM, 1946/1949). Animation legend Tex Avery was really on a roll in the late 1940s, after his move from Warner Brothers to MGM. It was here he directed some of his funniest cartoons, and here's a pair of original animation drawings from two of his best. Northwest Hounded Police (1946) pits escaped convict Wolf against a very determined Droopy; here's Wolfy right after escaping his cel (by drawing a door on the outside wall). He's drawn in graphite with red pencil shadows on 12 field animation paper, with an approximate image size of 2.25" x 6". Find him at the 0:54 mark in the short. Also included is a goofy Country Red pose from Avery's 1949 classic Little Rural Riding Hood, as seen at the 1:24 mark; she's tightly rendered in graphite on 12 field paper, with an image size of 3.25" x 6.5". Wow, that's two Tex Avery pieces in one great lot! Condition is Very Good with minor handling and light age-related paper toning.Auction Info
