Frosted Flakes Tony the Tiger and Ballantine Beer Phil Silvers Production Cel Group of 2 (Various Studios, c. 1950s-60s). This group of black and white production cels may give you nostalgia for the old days of television! The group includes two original production cels from the early days of television. The first features Tony the Tiger from one of his earliest commercials for Frosted Flakes. The full-figure, hand-inked, hand-painted image of Tony measures about 5" x 4". The second piece features a cartoon version of Phil Silvers in an ad for Ballantine Beer. The cel features Silvers in a baseball uniform as he holds a glass of beer, an image measuring about 6" x 6.25". Both cels are matted and framed. Silvers is in a glass-fronted frame, with a matboard aperture of 9" x 8" and an overall frame size of 14.5" x 13.5". Tony the Tiger is in a Plexiglas-fronted frame with a matboard aperture of 9.75" x 8" and an overall frame size of 17" x 15". The pieces are in Very Good condition, with some handling and edge wear, including minor cel rippling. The frames are sold as-is.Auction Info
