Al Jaffee Tall Tales Daily Comic Strip Original Art Group of 2 (New York Herald-Tribune, 1958). Jaffee takes full advantage of his strip's unique narrow/vertical composition to depict a bobsled race gone haywire (11-26-58) and a tire-tracks gag (12-23-58) -- brilliant stuff, here. Tall Tales ran during Jaffee's parallel ascent as a leading gagman with MAD, the humor magazine. Ink over graphite on toned Bristol board, with an image area of 2.75" x 10.25".
