Description

Dick Ayers and Ernie Bache Red Mask #49 Ghost Rider Story Page 6 Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1955). Ghost Rider makes a dramatic entrance in Panel 2, cutting off a gang of outlaws bent on hijacking a wagon shipment in this final page from the early adventure "Wagon Load of Doom!" Featuring the original Western hero incarnation of Ghost Rider, the phantom gunslinger who thrilled readers in the late 1940s and '50s, this page is penciled by his co-creator, Dick Ayers. Ink over graphite on illustration board with an image area of 12.25" x 17.5". There is significant water damage along the bottom of the page, resulting in paper loss extending into the lower portion of the final panel. The damage has also caused separation between the top art layer and the middle board through the lower third tier, as well as separation of layers on the reverse. Toning, moisture staining and surface wear at the bottom, chipped corners, edge wear, whiteout corrections, and minor spot staining. In Good condition.
